Is membership really free?
Yes. There is no cost to join The Real Thrift. Membership is free and simple to set up.
Who can apply?
Membership is available to people and families experiencing financial hardship. This includes:
- Centrelink payment recipients
- Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card holders
- People referred by a community partner
- Others facing exceptional circumstances
How long does approval take?
Most applications are reviewed within 5 business days. You’ll be notified by email once approved.
How many free items can I get?
Each member can choose up to 8 FREE items per week. This fair share limit helps make sure everyone has a chance to access essentials. Limits may change depending on product availability.
